Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms before using Lightbench. They explain the rules for using our free browser-based tools.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lightbench, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2. The Service

Lightbench provides free browser-based tools for working with images, PDFs and text, such as resizing, compressing, converting, cropping, OCR and metadata tools. The tools run locally in your browser. We may add, change or remove tools and features at any time without notice.

3. Your Files and Content

Your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. You keep all rights to the files you use with Lightbench. You are solely responsible for the files you process and for making sure you have the right to use, edit and share them.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use Lightbench for any unlawful purpose or to infringe the rights of others;
  • process content you do not have permission to use, or content that is illegal or abusive;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse engineer the website in a way that harms it or other users;
  • use the tools to create forged or misleading official documents. Tools such as the passport and ID photo makers only resize and crop images to common dimensions. Whether a photo is accepted is decided by the issuing authority.

5. Accuracy and Results

Results such as OCR text, extracted metadata, colors and file sizes are produced automatically and may contain errors. Always check the output before relying on it. Preset sizes for social media and official photos can change, so confirm current requirements with the platform or authority concerned.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lightbench name, design, text and code are owned by Lightbench or its licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission, except for open-source components that carry their own licenses.

7. Advertising and Third-Party Links

Lightbench may display advertising from third parties such as Google, and may link to other websites. We do not control third-party sites or ads and are not responsible for their content or practices. See our Privacy Policy for how cookies may be used.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lightbench is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suited to a particular purpose. See also our Disclaimer.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lightbench and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, files or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the website. Keep a copy of your original files before editing them.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the bottom of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use Lightbench after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
