How to use Rotate image
- Add a photo.
- Use Rotate left or Rotate right for quarter turns, or the Flip buttons to mirror it.
- To straighten a crooked horizon or a tilted document, drag the Fine angle slider until the lines look level.
- Choose a format and download the result.
Why use this tool
Photos from phones and scanners often arrive sideways, upside down or slightly tilted. This tool fixes the orientation without any editing software, and it never sends your picture to a server.
Tips for best results
- Quarter turns are lossless in PNG. In JPG, each save re-compresses the picture, so make all your changes before you download.
- For a tilted horizon, zoom in on the preview and turn the slider by small amounts. The Canvas option “Keep the same size” crops the empty corners for you.
- Choose Transparent corners with PNG or WebP if you plan to place the picture on another background.
- Flip left/right is useful for selfies that were saved mirrored.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It is turned in your browser and stays on your device.
Why are there empty corners?
A picture turned by an angle that is not a multiple of 90° no longer fits the original rectangle, so the canvas grows and the corners are empty. Fill them with a colour or switch to Keep the same size.
Does rotating lower the quality?
Quarter turns and flips do not blur the picture. Small angles are smoothed, which is barely visible. Saving as JPG compresses the picture again, so raise the quality slider if you want to keep more detail.
