1. Information We Do Not Collect (Zero-Data Storage)
- No File Uploads: All utility tools—including OCR, metadata extraction, format conversions, and image manipulation—run locally inside your web browser via client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, stored, or shared.
- No Personal Data: We do not require account creation, registration, or profiles to use our site. We do not gather or trade personal identifying information (PII). The only exception is information you choose to send us through the Contact form, described in section 5.
2. Cookies and Local Storage
We may utilize local browser storage (localStorage) solely to remember your preferred settings, theme selections, or configurations across sessions. These stay entirely on your device and can be cleared via your browser settings at any time.
3. Analytics
We may use lightweight, privacy-focused analytics to monitor aggregate website traffic trends (e.g., page views, popular tools) to optimize site performance. This metric data is entirely anonymized and cannot track individual identities.
4. Advertising and Third-Party Cookies
Lightbench may show advertisements served by third-party vendors, including Google. These vendors may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Lightbench and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not stop the tools from working.
- Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before using cookies for personalized ads.
We do not control the cookies set by third parties and we do not share your files with advertisers, because your files never leave your device.
5. Contact Form and Email
If you send us a message through the Contact page, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you type, and we use them only to reply to you. The message is delivered to our email inbox through a third-party form service. We do not sell this information or use it for marketing. You can ask us to delete your message by writing to us through the Contact page.
6. Children’s Privacy
Lightbench is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify this policy at any moment. Continued use of Lightbench implies acceptance of our data privacy model.
